personal computing : enough ms-ing (baca:messing) with me

January 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

It’s new year 1428H,
I’ve been struggling hard for Windows to be my number one OS choice.
Sadly enough, they don’t struggle enough to keep me doing that. Cause enough is enough, i’ve had enough of Windows.
Instead, I’ll make Windows my third choice, and my priorities will be Linux Slackware and MacOSX.

And why is that?
I am living in a Network Community that uses Linux as the OS for the Domain Server. And I thought I wanted to trial this OS myself too.
So I did and it has been one year (with about 3 months total usage) since I started the trial, and have enough knowledge to start switching to it as primary OS and start focus on learning more about it.
It has been wonderful trial, and the most appealing thing about it is its efficient usage of memory, and efficient CPU load, instead of Windows which is bloated.
Multi-tasking made easy, and I can also play my favorite game on it with a lot less CPU load (that is Football Manager from Sports Interactive).
But the two things that separates Windows from Linux (for me that is) are Photoshop and Game-compatibility. I guess I’ll still be using Windows on some game.

While Photoshop, I’m thinking about MacOSX.
That means, I won’t be buying anymore upgrade components for my current PC.
My next PC would be an Intel-Mac, I guess, we’ll see about that.
Unless there is a (modified?) version of MacOSX that can run on PC the way it runs on Intel-Mac (with equal compatibility, performance and stability).

Hello Dahri, Nice to meet you again, first off, i’ am sorry to my English if it’nt good much.

Okay, i really wonder because you are one of many linux geek, and choice slackware. I agree with you on that, but i want to comment, Linux not always give you stability especially if configuration of kernel not good, but i believe you’re expert on that, not like me.
